Wholesale Scarf RFQ Checklist: 10 Details Buyers Should Prepare

A practical specification checklist for comparing bulk scarf quotations without hidden assumptions.

Start with the end market

Tell the supplier where and how the scarves will be sold: boutique retail, promotional gifting, uniforms, e-commerce or a seasonal private-label collection. The use case changes the appropriate construction, testing, labelling and packaging choices.

Specify the product without guessing

Provide the scarf type, target hand feel, colour references, pattern artwork and reference photos. If fibre composition, dimensions or weight are not yet fixed, label them as development targets rather than confirmed specifications.

  • Construction: woven, knitted or another verified method
  • Finished dimensions and tolerance
  • Fibre composition or acceptable blend range
  • Target weight or reference sample
  • Fringe, hem and edge finish
  • Colour standard or physical swatch

Make quantities comparable

State the total quantity, units per colour and number of designs. Ask whether the quotation assumes one style, mixed styles or repeat orders. A low headline MOQ can be misleading if each colour has a separate minimum.

Confirm commercial and compliance details

Include destination country, target delivery window, packaging, label language, testing needs and preferred Incoterm. Request a written quotation that separates sampling, bulk goods, packaging and freight where applicable.

Use an approved sample as the control

The final quotation and approved physical sample should be the shared reference for fibre content, measurement, appearance and workmanship. Catalogue photos identify a style; they should not replace an agreed specification sheet.
